bowties and sneakers | Hudson, NH Family Photographer

It seemed like we had been waiting for this session for a very long time, in fact, it was in my calendar even before baby M had entered this world. However, plans changed over the summer and we decided to push off until fall. Since Mother Nature has not been on my side lately, it was a sigh of relief when I woke up to a beautiful, sunny autumn morning after the months of waiting! When I showed up to find these cuties dressed like this, I knew it was well worth the wait to meet this wonderful family.   blog2 blog3

I was in love with their outfits and the sneakers added just the perfect touch. Mom made the hats and bowties for the boys and baby M’s ‘overhauls’ are from the infamous LuBottom here in NH (I also got a set for my own sweet boy’s 1st birthday which I will blog before this month is over I hope!)

This was definitely a favorite from the day.

O was your typical two year old and was a little distracted by the surroundings and didn’t want much to do with me at times, but big sister was really good at reeling him in and/or literally catching him as he was running off (his mom also got a workout a few times too chasing him down!)blog4blog5 blog6blog7blog8

Sometimes things like this happen with two year olds. Having had two children in their two’s and one closing in on that age (ahhh!), I know how challenging times can be, but in many years from now, mom and dad are sure to look back on this photo and smile. blog9

And just to prove that he wasn’t sad for long, this was taken shortly after. It was so nice FINALLY meeting you R family! I hope you enjoyed your sneak peeks!  blog10

apple of their eye | Manchester, NH First Birthday Photographer

It had been quite some time since I had seen this awesome family though it felt like just yesterday I was taking big brother’s first birthday portraits. We had big plans to return to the same location, Benson’s in Hudson, for a little cake smashing (it would’ve been my first outdoor cake smash!) and some fall foliage portraits, but that sneaky Mother Nature had different plans. She toyed with us all morning via wishy washy forecasts, we finally had to change plans at the last minute since the cold and rain didn’t seem to be ending. Needless to say, I quickly set up for the cake in my little home studio and all was well. The birthday boy even got to take a warm bath after, a luxury he would’ve missed if we had been outside.

Blog1

One of the things I like most about cake smashes is picking up the cake from my beloved Chickadee Hill Cakes in Sandown, NH. I usually give them some vague idea of what I want for a cake and then I am always happy to see what they create with what little direction I give them. Secondly, I get to smell the cake in my fridge for a day or two — um, yum!! And this time I actually picked up two cakes! I photographed a session for my own little guy’s first birthday  — which I will blog eventually!

When it came to smashing, this little guy was pretty serious and a little unsure of it all. After knocking it to the floor and a few delicious bites, he became more interested in the balloons than the cake, but we still got him to crack a few frosty, smiles along the way.Blog3OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello blue eyes.Blog5 Blog6 Blog7Once the cake was cleaned up, we quickly switched gears and headed to a nearby park for some portraits. While it wasn’t the original plan, it worked well and our cute little subjects did wonderfully despite the fall chill and misty weather. Mom had a beautiful red wagon birthday party for him so we of course had to incorporate a wagon into the photos. The apples were just supposed to be a prop but ended up being a snack — in all the photos. Sometimes you just gotta go with it for one year olds! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Blog9(5) Blog9

I LOVE this one of the two boys – so handsome. Blog11

We of course had to get some photos of big brother too, who will soon be turning three!  Blog12Fall <3 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Blog14

This face cracks me up — such a ham. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As always, so good seeing you A family! Hope you enjoyed your sneak peeks and thanks for being flexible!  Blog16

6 months | Manchester, NH Baby Photographer

Six months… does not seem possible. I feel like I was just at the hospital watching this sweet girl come into this world. But my oh my, how quickly these wee little faces and scrunched up fists turn into bright, pudgy smiles and wiggly little fingers.blog1 blog2

We missed getting some piggy toe photos at her newborn session so I made up for it at this session. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe outfit below was a very special outfit picked out by her daddy before she was even born. blog4(1)

And we of course made sure that mama got into a few shots… these girls need to stick together with a house full of boys. blog4(2)

Mama wore this coat at her very snowy maternity session as well.Blog4(3)blog4She is PERFECTION. blog5

These next two cracked me up (in fact, I basically smiled the entire time editing for this blog post).  blog6

Chunky baby love. blog7

I’m imagining this one as a big print in their bathroom over the tub.  blog8

And suddenly she becomes modest… who me??! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAGah…. I love this one. blog10

I was definitely partial to color for these but this B&W just popped — love it. blog11 blog12 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHappy 6 Months sweet baby K!!! You are so loved. xoxo. blog14

sunflowers | Lee, NH Family Photographer

Sometimes I see a location along side a road,  a field, a barn, or even a tiny patch of tall grass that has just the perfect bit of light coming through it, and I obsess over needing to take photos there for days, weeks… basically until I actually do. This was one of those times. I spotted this field of sunflowers at Coppal House Farm in Lee while driving with my family and upon squeezing my husband’s shoulder and squealing, I declared, “I HAVE to take photos there”. So with a friend’s family in tow on a random Monday evening right after work, this happened…

Blog1

Coppal Farm is so incredibly nice (for another shoot at this location, check this post out), as is the family who owns and runs it. When I asked permission for photos that day, they told me I had better hurry as the sunflowers were beginning to pass and starting to droop. I’ll have to plan better for next year, but they were still gorgeous.Blog2

Little Miss T was quite tired after a long day at daycare, and mom and dad too after the day at work, so I am extra grateful they were willing to be dragged through fields (and LOTS and LOTS of chickens) at the very last minute. I would also be remiss not to mention the fact that I had my own baby with me so I could grab a few shots of him too. However, he had other plans in mind which involved staying on my hip the entire time — so please note that I’m actually holding him and shooting at the same time with my big 70-200 lens for all of these shots!  Mama (AKA me!) was a little hot, tired, and sweaty at the end, but please don’t worry if you have a future session with me, I don’t normally bring my kids! Blog3Blog5Blog4 Blog6

Thanks for playing S family!  Blog7

6 days perfect | Manchester, NH Newborn Photographer

Doing this session was like a sweet ending to a wonderful story of her coming into this world after having done her beautiful gender reveal and mama’s mini-maternity session. Baby C is just perfect in every way, from her calm and relaxed (so far!) personality, to her button nose and perfectly pouty lips. I know her parents and other family members are anxious to see these so without further ado…

Blog1 Blog2(5) Blog2

I sort of feel like yellow may be her color… a ray of sunshine!Blog3(5)

Look at those precious lips…  Blog3 Blog5

She’s definitely bringing leg warmers back into style. Blog7(5)Nothing wrong with a little baby bling. Blog7

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when I catch one of those first smiles… usually comes after a lot of weird faces (and maybe some gas – ha!) but capturing it for an image makes it an instant favorite. Blog8 Blog9(5) Blog9

Gorgeous mama and her baby girl — the first of many series of photos to come over the years! Blog10It’s tiring work being so adorable! Hope you enjoyed your sneak peeks, F family! Love her to pieces, xoxo! Blog11
