I love my clients, I really do, however when my clients are my personal friends or family, it’s like a double bonus for me! This session was for my cousin’s son, and was planned months ago. I was thrilled when we were blessed with a gorgeous afternoon for our shoot together as it would’ve been close to impossible to find another time with my crazy summer schedule. I scouted out a few new spots for this little guy since I knew we’d be dealing with afternoon sun. I was particularly looking for a field with tall grass, and while driving to another event with my husband the day before, I found a tiny shaded spot along the side of the road… *sigh*… it was perfect.

This little face cracks me up… I’m sure it’s one that his mama has seen before! blog4

When all else fails to get a smile, swing them in the air… works every time. blog5blog6(5)

After spending some time in the field, we headed to one of my favorite places to shoot when I’m visiting my parents in Maine, Doles Orchard. The farm has sooo many great spots and I knew I’d luck out with some shade around the barn. And since this is a rough and tough little boy, the tractor in the background set the scene perfectly.blog6 blog7

Totally swooning over this one…. added to my folder of all-time favorites.blog8 blog9

This is an illustration of toddlerhood — happy one minute, giving the hairy eyeball the next… blog10Fun on daddy’s shoulders…

Mama really wanted this session focused on her sweet boy, but it’s so important to be in photos with your kids. Even though I’m not blogging all of the family ones I took, I just loved the one below, and it’s a sure bet that he will love it someday too. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek – I had so much fun with you guys! xoxo blog16
